Life Update: We’re Moving!

Time for another LIFE UPDATE. If you’ve stayed up to date with the Plotner Happenings, you know that I quit my job at the end of 2018 not knowing quite what the future would look like. Yet, I was confident there was something promising ahead. I was totally surprised myself when I took a job with Seattle company, Pushpay, with plans to relocate to Dallas, Texas.

In mid-February of this year, I packed my car and headed to the Pacific Northwest for six weeks of training before heading to Texas. As the six weeks neared an end, I felt like I was just getting started … just getting started to form relationships, just getting started to learn the culture of this company, just getting started to learn a bit about Seattle and The PNW. After six weeks here, I made the decision to stay until the end of May when I would head back to Colorado to help pack up my family and head for the southern borders.

Over the last three months there have been a lot of discussions, prayers, and questions, but let me make a really long story short.  The longer I was working for this company and spending time here in Seattle, the stronger and stronger I felt that we were to move here rather than Texas. As I talked with the leaders of the company and Charlene visited for a long weekend, we made the decision to make this place our new home. If you’re shocked and surprised, you can join me. I am too. I never expected that our story will lead in this direction, but it is clear this is the direction.

Two and a half weeks ago, we sold our house in Colorado Springs within 9 hours of being on the market with an amazing cash offer. The housing market in Seattle is pretty crazy. Over the last two weeks, I’ve been looking at homes and make a few offers. Finally, this last Tuesday, we landed a home here as well. We will close on our old and new home(s) at the end of May and then spend the first few days of June packing and preparing for the movers. By June 10, we’ll be taking up residence in Mill Creek, Washington – about 30 minutes northwest of Downtown Seattle. I’ll let our girls (Selah who is 20 and Samara who is almost 18) share their own updates on what their future plans are.

Thanks for all of your prayers over the next few weeks; we have a lot going on including graduating Samara next week, followed by a week at our Pushpay Summit in Dallas, then off to Indiana to officiate my niece’s wedding. Then we head to Colorado Springs to pack, close, and move all about a week later. To say that there’s a lot going on is an understatement. Yet, we are excited and confident that God is leading us. As Selah reminded me on the phone as we both were crying together a week ago, if it we knew how it would work out, then it really wouldn’t be faith. We embarked on a faith journey in 2012 that lead us to Colorado. Seven years later we’re on another journey trusting that God has our very best in mind once again. If you’ve read all the way to the end, thank you. And we would really appreciate your prayers over the next couple of months. Much love to all of our friends wherever you are.

Well that is pretty exciting — Good for you– when you have time let us know what you would be doing— should be leading worship somewhere — my own opinion though so — if you are following God – everything will be fine – you and your little family! God Bless you !!!
