About

I am a follower of Jesus, husband, and father. Over the years I’ve been a high school teacher, worship leader, a coach of church leaders at Church Community Builder, an Executive Pastor of Community & Volunteers at New Life Church, and most recently Director of Implementation at Pushpay and executive leadership coach with The 4Sight Group.

I spent most of my entire life in Indiana — I grew up on a farm, was raised in the church, and then worked in the church. It was in 2012 when I felt God beginning to change the course of our future. We left Indiana for Colorado Springs, Colorado in June 2012 to begin a new journey. Since that time I’ve been coaching church leaders by guiding them through process design, strategic planning, leadership coaching, project management, and change management while focusing on the use of technology to maximize ministry effectiveness. I returned to full-time ministry serving at New Life Church in Colorado Springs helping to create connection and community through Sections, Groups, and Serving. After fours years in that role, I returned to the technology sector in February 2019 as I joined the Pushpay team. As Director of Implementation, I lead multiple teams that serve the larger Church community by helping to solve everyday problems that church leaders experience by leveraging technology, best practices, and coaching to help build community, connection, and belonging in their local church.

My experience includes local high school teacher, worship pastor, and a host of other local church roles including children and youth ministry as well as administration, small groups, and guest assimilation. In addition, I’ve traveled internationally on overseas missions to nearly a dozen countries over the last 20+ years. My writing on this blog reflects my experience as a husband and dad; worship leader and pastor, coach and consultant. I have a bachelors’ degree in Business Education from Ball State University, a master’s degree in Leadership from Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University. I am a certified organizational coach with the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (certified by the International Coaching Federation), a PROSCI certified change management practitioner, a licensed workshop facilitator for The Leadership Challenge, a certified facilitator of The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace and a certified facilitator of The Working Genius.

My wife, Charlene and I have been married for 30+ years and have two daughters — Selah (25) and Samara (22) that are both adopted from China. We currently live in Mill Creek, Washington, and have the pleasure of serving at Venture Church.
