I’ve often thought about it and wondered . . . what really is faith? I hear it used in so many different ways in today’s culture. Yet, the Bible is pretty clear about what it is . . . it’s the “confidence in what we hope for\u00a0and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1, NIV<\/a>)<\/p>\n

I have been able to quote that definition from scripture since I was a little child. However, not until recently have a I had a fuller understanding of what it really is. For us, it’s trusting that as we quit our jobs in Indiana, God will provide jobs for us In Colorado. It’s the trust in God that since this home that we own is his, he will send us the perfect buyer in the perfect time at the perfect price. It’s the trust that we he will work all of this out for our good, for his glory, in his timing.<\/p>\n

How does God work this out in us? By allowing us to get to the end of ourselves. You see, all these things of which I speak, I have absolutley no control over. We have painted and staged our home nearly perfecty. We’ve spent countless hours preparing resumes and filling out job applications. One of us has even had a few nerve-racking interviews. Yet, in the midst of all of this, we are out of control. God is completely in control of the rest of this. And this is where we step out the way, and our faith steps in. (Faith itself is actually a gift but that’s for a different post.)<\/p>\n
